My name is Nick White. From an early age I became interested in health and fitness.

I began training with weights when I was at senior school and went hunting for all the information I could find on the muscles of the human body and how they worked. I became heavily involved in American Football and Martial Arts after leaving school and found that regular injuries came along with these contact sports and found myself often doing rehabilitative exercises to get back to fitness.

Following a broken leg that required a couple of surgeries over the course of 18 months to fix, I found that the NHS physiotherapy was limited to ensuring I could get up and downstairs on crutches.

I wanted to get back to where I was before in terms of strength and fitness so began exercising specifically to recover my movement and strength in the leg.

I was 40 years old by then and always had the aches and pains that we associate with getting older, especially from my manual job in the building industry.

I found that by using exercises that focused on stability and muscle activation during my rehab, that those aches and pains disappeared too!

I decided to retrain to share the information that I’d found with other people like myself, those over that magic age of 40 who feel that the backache will never go away, or the stiff neck and shoulders are there to stay.

I use a combination of postural and movement assessment, hands on therapy and integrated exercises to get people back to doing the activities they love, whether it’s high intensity sports or walking in the countryside.

Thoughtless, fearless movement!

It’s easy to say “I’m getting pains because I’m getting old” or to avoid things you love to do because you’re worried about how it will feel the next day.

It’s easy just to reach for the painkillers or to tell yourself that it’ll be fine if you rest it for long enough but neither of these approaches gets to the root of the problem, they just mask the symptoms temporarily.

And who wants to keep taking painkillers anyway? Not someone who cares for their long-term health!
